Forest School

Founded on the principles that the Outdoors and Woodland places provide inspirational learning environments, and with a focus on learning needs before learning aims; Forest School offers child-centered, child-led learning, with activities that allow a child the freedom to explore rich and engaging environments and learn through an experiential process.

Forest school is an all-year-round learning experience that encourages regular sessions no matter the season. The Forest school pedagogy offers a unique opportunity for children to develop confidence, resilience, and self-esteem, practice personal and social skills and gain independence.

In addition to the educational and social enrichment, Forest Schools fosters and promotes a child's wellbeing through positive engagement in learning, and more importantly, through attachment to place and people.

Furness Outdoor Learning is pleased to offer individualised Forest School programmes for your School. Delivered by qualified level 3 Forest School practitioners who are experienced in leading children through the process of child-led learning, making every programme and session a unique learning experience.

Furness Outdoor Learning follows the guiding principles set out by the Forest School Association to ensure that the programmes we deliver are authentic to the Forest School ethos and pedagogy.

Our Forest School programmes are designed and delivered to provide the very best learning experience and the right ratios of participants to Leader are vital in achieving this. All groups must be accompanied by a competent adult during their visits, to assist with behavioural and pastoral needs.
